I've tested some new products and share a few in my latest holiday gift guide; especially for those with chronic illness and/or challenged by the aging process. The first on the list is influenced by our current pandemic and the last two will appeal to those with special diets. Then there is the one in the middle appealing to the many with aches, pain, inflammation and more!
Cotton Facemasks by Swaddle Designs are tightly woven masks designed to filter airborne particles They were created by a nurse, leveraging her baby blanket factory, in response to the pandemic. Most importantly, their effectiveness has been proven with lab testing (see video); demonstrating they offer superior filtration of aerosolized droplets by using three layers of tightly woven 180 thread count cotton fabric. The best part is I found them to be the most comfortable and breathable. While I may not forget I have it on, I certainly am also not in a mad rush to pull it off as soon as I exit the doors of a building. Both kids and adult sizes are available.
CBD Creams, Bath Bombs, Gummies & more are branded by Resilience as being for the everyday athlete who wants to reach their impossible. Those with functional limitations due to chronic disease or aging processes may also feel like athletes slowly reaching their impossible. The creams are ideal for targeting painful areas caused by inflammation and who doesn't like soaking in a warm tub with a CBD bath bomb while self-isolating at home to stay safe. This year is about stepping back and reconnecting with the little things in life and creating our own spa days at home.
While we are staying home more, lets turn our attention to food. Parma! plant-based parmesan "cheese" is for those on your gift list who may have allergies or sensitivities and/or in need of vegan and lactose-free (non-dairy) options. It was created by Shannon Schnibbe who realized food was making her sick. In addition to the original in an easy-to-sprinkle container, new offerings include Better than Bacon and Chipotle Cayenne (my favorite.) If you don't see the products in your local grocery or health food store, you can also order them online.
Another product in the food category for my 2020 holiday gift guide are lentils. Not the ones you find in a soup, but the crunchy ones you find in a resealable bag that are BBQ flavored for healthy snacking or as a spicy topping for a salad. Getting enough protein can be a struggle for those recovering from illness or aging. Adding extra protein into our diet with something easier to access than a bowl of soup can provide the needed boost. Seapoint Farms uses plant-based proteins to fuel their Mighty Lil' Lentils and other products, such as, heart-healthy Dry Roasted Edamame and Baked Seaweed Crisps. The young and healthy vegans in your life will also enjoy these tasty snacks.
Enjoy your holidays and recognize the 0pportunity the end of 2020 provides in slowing down our busy lives!
Note: As always, each of the products listed in my gift guides are tested by myself - with a some health from my Vegan daughter this time. My recommends are based solely upon my thoughtful assessment of the products - no advertising fees have been accepted.
