These days there is a great deal of buzz about hand sanitizer. There are options to the traditional alcohol based products, or those you can make from home. One intriguing option is Clean Well, because my skin is really dry.
Having worked in hospitals and other healthcare environments throughout my career, I'm pretty familiar with the unintended
consequences of frequent hand washing and use of hand sanitizer. However, I've been using foam, wipes and travel spray more often than I ever have previously and can see a real difference.
Clean Well was created by a father for his son with an immune system disorder. At some point the chemicals just become too harsh and there is the risk that the safeguard (sanitizer) just won't be used as needed. Clean Well minimizes this risk because they leverage the power of botanically derived Thymol (from oil of thyme); a natural antiseptic that kills 99% of household germs.
What I really like is that the foam, stored in the cup holder next to my seat, is ready for me to use on my hands and car key as soon as I enter the car. The travel spray is carried in my purse/pocket for restroom visits and spritzed on my mask each time I return to my car. And, the wipes help me keep all the buttons, steering wheel and other surfaces I touch clean. While it might be easier to stay home, and I am isolating due to my own immune system challenges, sometimes I just have to get out into the rest of the world.
