The holidays can be a stressful, sad and/or lonely time for some. This may be especially true for family caregivers who are trying to navigate through family gatherings with a loved one who exhibits challenging behaviors.
My holiday wish is for caregivers to free themselves from the internal struggles between options; and the fear of what their loved one with dementia, Alzheimer's, or mental illness will do. Be open with family and friends and don't hide the reality of illness or struggles. It is, what it is... and beyond your control. Those who truly love and care for you will be there to support you.
This Christmas and into the new year let a higher power or Jesus take the wheel!
