Tis' the season of holidays and the giving of gifts. But, what do you get for someone with functional limitations caused by injury, chronic illness or aging processes? This year I've been keeping an eye out for a few items that can make a real difference to those living their lives in spite of the challenges they face. These gifts are innovative and useful; and a bit focused on the bed and bath.
1. Nasoni Da Vinci Fountain Faucet - My newest and most exciting find is a bathroom faucet with a built in fountain. Why you ask? Because there comes a time for most of us when we just can't bend over to get water to rinse out our mouth after brushing our teeth or for a drink after taking medications. Whether is is a loss of balance, muscle weakness or pain; a drinking fountain in the bathroom provides a welcomed option. The Nasoni Fountain Faucet is heavy and well made and easy to install and clean by family caregivers or users. Use of the descriptor "Da Vinci" is accurate in the case of this design; inspired by the fountains of Rome. The faucet fountains are available in both center-set and wide-spread styles and an inline filter is also available for those with aging pipes or minerals in their water supply.
2. Canna Bath Company Infused Bath Products - While there are a variety of CBD and essential oil infused products to choose from, the CBD Bath Bomb is my favorite. Sometimes a gift that forces us to pamper ourselves is really important; and what better way than a hot bath to ease the aches and pains and melt all of our stresses away. Canna Bath Company offers Arouse, Energize, Muscle and my favorite, Sleep. Each are formulated for sensitive skin , include approximately 60 mg of CBD and are free from over coloring.
3. GuruNanda Whole Body Essential Oil Six-Pack - GuruNanda has been my favorite essential oil for the last year, but they are expanding their offering of blends to make it even easier to aid the whole body. The whole body blends come in a decorative box includes Head, ENT, Immunity, Stomach, Joints and Feet. For those with compromised immune systems, this is the perfect time of the year to add essential oils for all the help one can get. My other favorites, based upon my personal needs, are Joints (arthritis) and Feet (neuropathy). But, all are useful for the periodic headaches, stomachaches and sniffles.
4. Stander Security Poles and Bed Rails - Safety is just as important in the home as it is in the hospital or other healthcare facilities. Getting up from a toilet or in/out of the bathtub and bed can be challenging and risky for those with muscle weakness, fatigue, and coordination or balance challenges. Standers' products are all sturdy and designed with independence and comfort of user needs and safety in mind.
5. Dixie Botanicals Kicks Energy Chews - Chronic illness can take its toll on the body and mind and sometimes comes in the form of fatigue. Think about it. When it takes more effort to complete activities of daily living or other tasks, feelings of tiredness, sleepiness and fatigue will slow our bodies down. However, we may not be ready to slow down or need a little boost to help us get through the rest of our day. Dixie Botanicals offers energy chews include energizing vitamins, 5 mg of CBD and/or 100 mg of caffeine in each chew without the crash of extra sugar. Flavors include Chocolate, Sour Apple and Mango Citrus (no caffeine).
This year, give your loved one something that will truly make a difference in their life by helping them feel better, stay active or remain safe.
