There was a time when I could hardly squeeze toothpaste out of the plastic tube, but that was nothing compared to the metal tube of my favorite hand cream. So, I started thinking and researching. In the process I learned about the Big Squeeze... before it was even on the market. When it finally made it to market late last year, I got one (green) and tried it... and really like it. Here are my reasons why:
- It has a big handle for an easy grip and grasp and the long handle provides some needed leverage for squeezing down on the end of the tube.
- The turning mechanism is also big and broad for easier grasping with weak or uncoordinated fingers.
- Then, turning and moving the product (medication, hand cream, paint, glue, toothpaste, etc.) toward the tube is EXTREMELY efficient ... meaning there is little to no waste -- which can mean saving money.
- Unlike some squeezers, you can easily remove it from the product and use it on something else. I went around the house the day I got it and squeezed every tube I could find.
- If you get the bright pink or orange Big Squeeze, scanning the environment and finding it will be a little easier.
The video below shows the Big Squeeze in action. The hospital administrator in me sees its value to nurses in the burn, wound care or other units. The patient in me sees being able to do more for myself, lessening the burden on my family, and saving money over time.
