As a child, I attended AA and Alanon meetings with my grandparents whenever I was visiting over the summer. It was what we did, especially since my "born again" recovering alcoholic grandfather took pride in helping those new on the journey to sobriety or stumbling along the way. Later in life, I learned more about addiction at a 158 bed psychiatric and chemical dependency hospital while leading operations.

So, when I learn of innovative tools to help those embarking on their journey or trying to avoid the potholes, detours and exit ramps, I do get excited. SoberGrid, an app is my latest, and maybe, best find because it incorporates the ubiquitous social media and mobile technologies.
A recent article covers the details of how it works, but here I want to share the highlights via images and links to the app for those who need it, or their caregivers.
SoberGrid also offers a Provider Portal that allows EAPs and providers to connect with their alumni and stay in touch after treatment. Watch this video!
