It sounds like both patient and physician enjoyed the fight. The patient had trouble with the insurance process (shocker) and the physician 'doesn't provide that service'. It takes two sides to engage in this bickering that if not diverted tends to lead directly up the court house steps. Unfortunately, every moment devoted to this drama, is forever lost, with sad little to show for it.

Yes, "drama" is a good word to use. I also believe it "takes two to tango", or in this case escalate the fight.
