Nursing is definitely a growing field, and nurse practitioners will be in higher demand as the population begins to age. I actually didn't know that NPs went into specialties- thanks for enlightening me!

Everything you said about NPs is correct. Generally same for PAs, another group of non physicians who do what physicians do. Both are generally great and will tasks great care of you. About 95,000 PAs around the country.

NPs can serve as a patient's primary health care provider. NP can also see the patients of all ages depending on their specialty.
