Healthcare IT News reported on the results of the April Commonwealth Fund Health Care Opinion Leaders Survey question, which asked:
"How important do you think (the promotion of health information exchange networks/regional health information organizations) is in improving health system performance?
Not surprisingly, at least to me, was that 67% said very important or important. If implemented correctly, there is so much that can be improved, but it will take the support and cooperation of all stakeholders and society as a whole.
At some point, health information technology will become a cost of doing business, but it is a cost that should be born by all stakeholders who want improved health system performance available in their community.
