One of my responsibilities at the hospital is the environment of care and I've been very active with disaster planning. As a result, I'm brushing up on my knowledge of pandemic flu preparations and have just ordered a copy of The Great Influenza, by John Barry. I saw an article on it in Global Health and look forward to the lessons learned from the 1918 Pandemic.
Since we are on the subject, I should also share a website http://pandemicflu.gov/ that is invaluable for anyone interested in preparing. Because, as we all know -- it isn't a matter of if, it is a matter of when!
