My congratulations on finishing this wonderful contribution to the field!!! Many communities will benefit from this work and will have a starting point that will move them weeks or possibly months ahead in their establishment of a connected community that will be standards-based and will improve the quality, safety, efficiency and effectiveness of their healthcare systems.

W. Holt Anderson, Executive Director
North Carolina Healthcare Information and Communications Alliance, Inc. (NCHICA)

MedVirginia, www.medvirginia.net, is a provider-owned company in Richmond, VA whose community-based HIE in central Virginia has been operational since January, 2006. In order to help other individuals and organizations wrestling with RHIO issues, we’ve introduced a “RHIO Lab” This one-day workshop has been designed specifically for community leaders seeking to go beyond standard conference fare and dive into the real world experiences of a successful RHIO and health information exchange.
During the Lab, MedVirginia executives and selected partners will lead participants through a series of “round-table” interactive discussion of mission-critical topics including structure and governance, technology and infrastructure, legal and regulatory issues, business model, promotion of the RHIO, and applicability to other markets. It is our strong preference to host only 5-10 individuals from a single organization at a time so that we can have private and candid conversations about YOUR issues and potential real-world solutions based on our experience.
