The healthcare crisis is building as realistically detailed in this NY Times article!
Over the winter break I saw for myself the lack of housing in the City of New Orleans and wondered where employees of the hospitals were living and imagined the distance people are having to travel to find a doctor or an open hospital.
Even in Jefferson Parish where houses were damaged less severely, it was enough that people are having to live in trailers while they remove the wet moldy walls and belongings and start to renovate. People returning have to balance work with getting their lives back in order -- and livable housing is at a premium!
So, if anyone has an idea of how we can help, please share it!
