There are a couple of topics swirling around these days and I'm wondering what my readers think about each.
1. Behavioral Health -- Behavioral health stakeholders have not be involved in recent HIT and RHIO efforts. However, there is tremendous potential for improvement, even if you just look at the impact ePrescribing will have on med-seeking behavior (cost, risk, safety). Do you remember when managed care "carved out" behavioral health? There was a reason! IOM Report
2. Workplace Effectiveness -- What will be the long term benefits of HIT on the lives of healthcare professionals who are trying to balance work and personal commitments? Will there be a return to the labor pool for some, will others have more time for patient care, and will still others be able to participate, more actively, in children and family events?
3. Malpractice rates -- What is the impact of HIT or EHRs on a physician's malpractice rate? Some insurers are beginning to realize the value and offer incentives to physicians with an EHR and others are still considering the impact. Can more be done in this area to bring these stakeholders into the dialogue?
I look forward to reading your thoughts and considerations!
Good day guys!
I hope I post in the appropriate place.
I'm in search for an affordable but decent health insurance policy. I live in Maryland.
Would appreciate any personal directions. Thank you so much!
