I've heard that CalRHIO has come to a close and read the announcement from the Board of Directors. I'm not exactly sure what it means yet, but expect that more will be revealed over the next few weeks and months. I'm sure there will be some lessons learned, just as with SBCCDE.
It was one year ago that I experienced a layoff and I can emphasize with the CalRHIO staff who received the news this week. I can only offer: keep your eyes open for the next wonderful opportunity!

Christina, I also empathize with the laid off staff of CalRHIO, who worked long and hard but in the end, unfortunately, found that they had toiled to no avail for organizational leadership that failed (after five years and $7 million) to develop any coherent services relevant to the currently burgeoning field of electronic health data interoperability.
